Hugh Jackman Shares Final Image And A Short Clip In Anticipation Of The First ‘Logan’ Trailer

Fans everywhere have appreciated the man who has given us one of the most memorable superhero performances. Hugh Jackman has played the character of Wolverine six times (not counting his cameo appearance in X-Men: First Class) with his seventh as the clawed mutant in next years Logan.

This will mark his final appearance as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. James Mangold who directed 2013’s The Wolverine will again helm this film with Jackman assisting with the script. Jackman has carried this character through and through and continues to be the standout star in every one of the X-Men films. The last time we saw Wolverine, was his brief role in this years x-Men: Apocalypse. However, Jackman played a crucial role in saving the mutants from extinction by going back in time in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The marketing for Logan has been rather on the quiet front. However these past few weeks, fans have been treated with plenty of black and white pictures to try and dissect as to what the storyline of Logan will be about. Well, fans will no longer have to wait because a teaser trailer for Logan will be dropping any minute now. But before fans can get a glimpse at our first look at Wolverine’s final film, the director posted a photo of Jackman looking rather ‘old.’ Check it out from Mangold’s Twitter account below:

What Can We Learn From This Photo?

One things for sure, Jackman looks pretty beat up in this photo. What makes this picture more surprising is the fact that Logan looks worn down and is starting to show his age for a guy who simply doesn’t. However, somehow Jackman appears to be losing his healing factor as you can easily spot a scar running down the side of his face. A much younger Wolverine would have had that healed up in seconds, but this version of him shows us that Wolverine’s days may be coming to an end. He may be finally starting to age like a regular human which unfortunately for him could be coming at a rather inopportune time.

That wasn’t the only thing released in anticipation of the trailer. Jackman himself took to his Twitter and posted a short 5 second clip that we can presume is from the trailer. Click on the video below to view it:

What’s The Meaning Behind These Words?

Jackman’s lines in the clip are as follows:

“Nature made me a freak. Man made me a weapon. And God made it last too long.”

If I were to guess, these are probably the first words that will be spoken from Logan in the trailer. They are very reminiscent of his character, especially since we all know him while watching him grow up in this franchise.

The first sentence explains everything he feels about himself. Logan believes he has animal characteristics and is being treated as such. The second part describes how he eventually became Wolverine with his adamantium claws developed as part of an experiment from William Stryker. He was brought up as a killing machine and never understood his past until meeting Charles Xavier and the X-Men. Finally, we can interpret the last sentence of Logan being extremely upset at the man upstairs who he believed placed a cursed on his entire life. Now Logan must deal with the now and is realizing that his healing power is starting to fade.
