Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith debuted in theaters ten years ago today on May 19, 2005. It was an experience I will not soon forget. I remember watching that first trailer where we hear Obi-Wan Kenobi’s voice (Alec Guinness) proclaim that “For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the old Republic before the dark times, before the empire…” This immediately had me believing that what we were about to watch what would become the darkest Star Wars film to date. We all knew this was coming. No matter which way you look at it, or who you talk to, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is by far the best of the newer trilogy.
“Every single Jedi is now an enemy of the Republic. Do what must be done. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy.” Those were the words spoken by the evil Darth Sidious himself once Anakin became shrouded by the dark side. The film received mostly positive reviews as it would go down as the last Star Wars film made by George Lucas himself. Back in 2012, we learned that Disney purchased the rights to Lucas Arts for a lump sum of $4.5 billion.
Disney is now on their way creating a new universe to please fans of both old and new. This year we will witness a brand new saga starting with Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. But let’s not talk about the upcoming film just yet because I’m hear to tell you what these famous stars from the film have been up to since the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. What work have these stars been a part of over the last ten years? Let’s find out! (I apologize in advance as some of these pictures appear smaller than others).

Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi)

He also narrated a tv show called JetSet which involved the training of young pilots and navigators through a six month program on how to fly located at RAF Lossiemouth. He also starred alongside Colin Farrell in a Woody Allen film known as Cassandra’s Dream. Not only does he take part in films and tv shows but you can also find him at broadway in London. Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu)
Age of Release: 56
Current Age: 66
What has he been up to? If you only recognize Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu from the Star Wars prequels, then you should be ashamed of yourself. Jackson has been in a HUGE amount of cinema since those films were released. Where do I even begin? How about we start with the putrid Snakes on a Plane released back in 2006. If there’s anything redeemable from that film it’s perhaps the most famous line in the movie: “Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfu***** snakes on this motherfu***** plane!!!” He’s perhaps more famous now for playing the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Nick Fury in the Marvel cinematic universe.Other Notable Works: 1408, Jumper, Fury (2012), Robocop, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and plenty of Marvel movies as Fury but the one that stands out to me the most was his role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Ian McDiarmid (Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious)
Age of Release: 60
Current Age: 70
What has he been up to? McDiarmid was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. As far as films go, this was the role in which he is most known for when speaking his name in any conversation. However, he is far better known for his stage presence in British theatre. His most recent role lasted from April through June 2012 in the play Timon of Athens which was completed at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. He has also voiced Darth Sidious for the Star Wars Expanded Universe most notably the video games.
Other Notable Works: BBC Series: Charles II: The Power and the Passion, 37 Days, Utopia.
Christopher Lee (Count Dooku)
Age of Release: 82
Current Age: 92
What has he been up to? Christopher Lee will forever go down as having reinvigorated one of the most popular movie monsters: Count Dracula. However, that was in his early years of his acting career. Since then he has been in a James Bond film and is also known for playing a crucial character in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Saruman. He was also briefly shown portraying Saruman in two of the three recent Hobbit films. Lee is also known for his musical presence as he has worked with some heavy metal bands since 2005. You can hear his voice in the album Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross (2010) and also its sequel Charlemagne: The Omens of Death (2012).
Other Notable Works: Alice in Wonderland, Hugo, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Jimmy Smits (Bail Organa)
Age of Release: 49
Current Age: 59
What has he been up to? For Star Wars fans, Jimmy Smits played Senator Bail Organa in both Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Organa as we know from the film becomes Leia’s adopted father and watches over her on his home planet of Alderaan. Yet another actor who stars in broadway plays, Smits replaced well known actor Jeff Daniels to star in God of Carnage. He also starred in another play in Chicago titled The Motherfu**ker with the Hat. He is currently known for his role in the Sons of Anarchy television series.
Other Notable Works: Cane, Dexter, Outlaw
Silas Carson (Ki-Adi-Mundi)
Age of Release: 40
Current Age: 50
What has he been up to? Silas Carson is mostly known for his lead role in the Star Wars prequels as Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi. However, what some fans may not have known was that he also played the Separatist leader: Viceroy Nute Gunray. This is yet another actor who is mostly seen on television. He has voiced alien characters in six total episodes on the show Doctor Who. He has also appeared in the BBC’s school drama Waterloo Road as the blackmailer Stuart Hordley.
Other Notable Works: The IT Crowd, Heroes and Villains, The Casual Vacancy
Amy Allen (Aayla Secura)
Age of Release: 28
Current Age: 38
What has she been up to? The only time she was an actress in a major film was in both Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith as Jedi Master Aayla Secura. She has worked more “behind the scenes” during her film career mostly as a production assistant. Some of her works include Deja Vu, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, Pearl Harbor, Gangs of New York, and Electra.

He is also remembered for playing Jango Fett in Episode II who is eventually killed off by Jedi Master Mace Windu. Not only has Morrison acted and voiced in the Star Wars films but he has also taken part in the video game industry as well. He has voiced both Jango and Boba Fett in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and Star Wars: Empire at War. Morrison also acted as one of the Green Lanterns (Abin Sur) in the disappointing 2011 film.
