The Russo Brothers Are a Lock to Direct ‘Avengers: 3 & 4’

Great news has just been announced for Marvel fans!  Joe and Anthony Russo WILL DEFINITELY direct the upcoming  Avengers Infinity War Part 1 and 2.

Ever since early November of last year, there has been much speculation that the Russo brothers were going to helm the two part finale that will bring Marvel’s Phase 3 to a close.  Badass Digest  has now officially confirmed to us that this is the case.  The Russo’s as most of us know, directed last years spy-thriller hit  Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  They will also be directing Cap’s second sequel in the form of a  Civil War.  That film will be hitting theaters May 6, 2016.

I cannot be more excited to finally hear that the Russo’s will be taking the reins all the way through. Captain America: Civil War  will not only become a crucial film in its own right, but that it will help establish the storyline moving forward leading up to the  Infinity War.

I was beginning to worry a little when I recently heard that they were signing a three year deal with SONY pictures to direct possibly more than one  Ghostbusters  film.  I had hoped that these films would not hinder them from directing the two-part Avengers film.  Apparently it won’t, as Marvel was able to come to an agreement with them to keep their ship afloat in the Marvel cinematic universe.

The Russos are more than capable to steer their ship after having directed arguably the greatest Marvel film to date in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  We don’t have to wait much longer as Captain America: Civil War  hits theaters next year.  There are however some concerns I have with Civil War  which I wrote about in a previous article which you can view right here.

Overall, I am elated to hear that the brothers will continue to inspire this cinematic universe for years to come.  Their plate may be full for the next five years, but at least Marvel was able to offer them seconds.

What do you all think about this announcement?  Are YOU more excited for Marvel’s Phase Three knowing we have two great directors OFFICIALLY signed to take over perhaps their most difficult project yet?  Please share your thoughts in the comment section below!
