5 Crucial Quotable Moments from the Newest ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer!’

Age-of-Ultron-t3-3

How many times have YOU watched the newest Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer? I’ll take A LOT as the correct answer. Wanna watch it one more time?  Of course you do!

The Avengers clearly have their hands full as earths mightiest heroes have to team up once again (for the last time?) to face their most strongest and fearless enemy yet. Ultron clearly has issues as we’ve heard him speak multiple times in previous trailers declaring: “There’s only one path to peace… THEIR EXTINCTION!” But there are also plenty of moments from the trailer that stand out and it’s not what we can visually see but what was actually said and how it was said in the trailer that stood out to me the most.

Trailers as we know are a great marketing tool for films. Not only do they get us ultra-siked (is that a word? well, it is now) to see any film, but the company will drop little tidbits of information or clues that will lead to a possible explanation or theory as to what will happen. Much is spoken throughout this AMAZING trailer but the importance of these phrases cannot be overlooked. Allow me to dive a bit deeper into some of these quotes from the trailer and what I believe is the significance of what was said. In no particular order, here are some of the quotes that stood out to me the most:

1.  “I tried to create a suit of armor around the world. But I created something, terrible.”-Tony Stark

Robert Downey Jr in Avengers: Age of Ultron

By just reading the first part of the  Avengers: Age of Ultron  synopsis; “When Tony stark tries to jumpstart a peacekeeping program, things go awry…” we fully understand who’s idea it was to create Ultron in the first place (although I certainly hope they reference Hank Pym in the film as he is ultimately the original creator from the comics).  In the trailer, Tony admits his faults that he wanted to create these robots to help protect humanity as the avengers cannot be in every part of the world when needed.  Unfortunately his plans have backfired and now the avengers are forced to stop this threat towards mankind.  This quote brings us an unfathomable omen of what’s to come…

2.  “I’m sick of watching people pay for our mistakes.”- Captain America

Chris Evans in Avengers: Age of Ultron

I believe this quote said by Captain America will be directed towards Tony Stark while the team is planning their next move to stop Ultron and his robotic minions.  A rather unfortunate occurrence takes place in the trailer when Cap is running to rescue civilians in a vehicle as they are plummeting down off an unstable bridge.  Cap does all he can to try and save them but to no avail.  This one scene truly depicts the destruction that Ultron will undoubtedly create and the major impact it will have on the team moving forward.  Plenty of innocent lives will be lost in this film, and I believe this will be the ultimate breaking point at which Captain America and Iron-Man both go their separate ways that eventually lead to  Civil War.

3.  “Isn’t why we fight so we can end the fight and go home?!”- Tony Stark

Robert Downey Jr in Avengers: Age of Ultron

If you have watched the leaked video of this clip on YouTube, then you know when this quote takes place.  If you haven’t you can check out right here:

I believe this is the scene that will have Captain America and Iron-Man parting ways.  What I take from this quote is that Iron-Man believes that if you want to prevent war, you must scare your enemies away and make them fearful of you.  Captain America believes the opposite in which he replies: “Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts innocent people die.”  As we all saw from Captain’s last go round with S.H.I.E.L.D. (now Hydra), Fury was blinded by these lies believing that if they were to prevent crime before they happen, the world would become a better place.

For those of you who watched  Captain America: The Winter Soldier  (hopefully that’s everyone reading this article), you know how that went down.  Innocent lives would have been lost.  And as we see from this trailer, innocent people will die and perish and it will all crumble down on Tony Stark. He tried to prevent a war by creating these robots to protect humanity.  Tony’s vision of the future is declared by Ultron from the very beginning of the trailer: “I was designed to save the world.”  But now thanks to Ultron becoming smarter due to his artificial intelligence all “hope” is lost.

4.  “Here we all are. Nothing but our wit and will to save the world. So stand and fight.”- Nick Fury

Age-of-Ultron-t3-11

This scene will most likely take place near the end of the film.  A very disappointed Nick Fury speaks these rather loathsome words.  He is the coach if you will, of this entire group.  We all know the Avengers will eventually become divided by the end of this film. Heck, even Fury senses that the team is falling apart.  But work MUST be accomplished if everyone else on earth is to be saved.

The Avengers have failed up until this point, but Fury is still there with them rallying up his troops to take one last crack at the now vibranium covered robot Ultron.  I believe the toughest challenge for the Avengers won’t be the actual fight itself, but the team work that is involved for them to finally destroy Ultron.  Since Iron-Man and Captain America are parting ways, they must team up one last time to finish off this threat for good.

5.  “No way we all get through this.”- Tony Stark

 Age-of-Ultron-t3-13

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, someone will perish in this film and for some reason I have to believe it may be more than one avenger.  Why do I say this?  Well, firstly I’ve previously written an article of who I believe has the greatest chance to be killed off:  War Machine.  You can view that article here.  But I also believe it will be another avenger who has been referenced by a lot of people and that is Hawkeye.  For multiple reasons, he could very likely bite the dust in this film.

However, the proof that I have from the trailer is that when the quote is said by Stark and followed up by Captain America declaring: “I’ve got no plans tomorrow night,” who does the trailer show us after these two quotes are spoken?  That’s right, Hawkeye.  Sometimes trailers will drop us hints throughout and I believe this may be one of them.  (UPDATE: Hawkeye has recently been confirmed to star in next summer’s Captain America: Civil War ).  Either way, whether it’s War Machine, Hawkeye, Fury, or even the Incredible Hulk, someone will perish and this will ultimately tear the team apart.

These quotes tell us a good amount of information that we can just sit back, relax, and contemplate over.  This trailer was awesome and I simply cannot stand to wait any longer for this film to come out.
